Dear Escazuceña Neighborhood:
As you know, with the reinforcement of the Transit part we started a series of devices with the intention of improving the flow of vehicles in the canton, guaranteeing the free transit of people as required by the Constitution of the Republic and having a canton More manageable.
As some of you say, in some cases it is never ending, they are removed and returned, so in very particular situations we had to use the infraction tickets.
We know that little by little, the culture that is taught in the road education courses to get the driver’s license will recover.
We are receiving complaints from mail traffic (firstname.lastname@example.org), the wall and inbox Faceboook, Twitter account (@pmescazu), and the telephone line 80022552255 between 15 and 25 complaints daily. Since we can not physically be everywhere, but know that all are read and put into care.
The re-ordering of road depends 100% of what the Department of Traffic Engineering of the MOPT has approved, with this material we are regulating. If any person has objection on yellow lines marked by the MOPT in his community or that affects him in some way, we ask you to let him know before this department of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport – not the Municipality – because they correspond.
Very soon we will adjust the group of 16 officers with a traffic code, that is, we will have more officers in this matter. However, it should be remembered that we have other functions of equal importance that we have been developing since our creation.
You can be sure the community of Escazu, we are NOT going to lower our guard, neither in transit nor in criminal matters, there are jobs that are being coordinated to have a safer Escazú.
Finally, we thank the hundreds of comments, emails, phone calls and messages on social networks that motivate us every minute to make our Escazú, a better canton, according to the guidelines of the Mayor.
Municipal Police of Escazú
Escazú with two municipal transit officers more as of May 3
After being sworn in this morning before the general director of the traffic police, the officers Adrián Alvarado and Steven Mendez, join the Municipal Police of Transit of Escazú.
With them there are already three officers of the Municipal Police of Escazú who have on their shoulders the responsibility of the cantonal road safety.
For Arnoldo Barahona, mayor of Escazú: “it is a complementation of the work that has been carried out in an integral way by the Municipal Police.
Win the Canton of Escazú, win cantonal security, win road safety and win our population. Contrary to other municipal transit police, in Escazú the officers are still police officers, but on the contrary, they fulfill a double function, and with this we achieve a comprehensive security for the canton, “said the mayor.
From today Wednesday the new municipal police of transit will cross the canton of Escazú, exercising its new functions.
